Adrian Dean Seals, 73, Benton, IL went to be with the Lord at 11:52 a.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the St. Mary's Good Samaritan Regional Healthcare Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in the First Church of the Nazarene, Benton, IL with Pastor Jeffrey Stark officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton, with Military Rites to be conducted by the Benton American Legion Post #280, V.F.W. Post 2671 and the Illinois National Guard Honor Team. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton, and from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. in the First Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Seals was born on March 15, 1937 in Saddle Mountain, Oklahoma, the son of Albert Seals and Eula (Hunt) Seals. He married the former Shelby Kuykendall on October 21, 1960 and she survives.
He was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as a Flight Service Specialist in San Angelo, TX, as a result he knows the coordinates for Heaven and is on his way to meet his Lord and Savior. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Benton.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Shelby, of 50 years; a daughter, Robin and husband Leonard Wininger of Benton, a son, Marc Seals of Eagle River, Alaska, two grandchildren, Jarred Hurt and Corey Seals both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a great-grandson, Lathan Crawford of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a brother, Gerald Seals and wife Eileen of Seattle, Washington, two nieces Jody and Donna, and his feline friend named Cat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Albert Seals, Jr.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene of Benton, and will be accepted at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, and at the church on Wednesday.
Arrangements are through the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.
