Archie Lavern Lampley, Sr.

Archie LaVern Lampley, Sr., 72, of Benton; died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the Stone Bridge Senior Living Center in Benton.

Per Archie's wishes, private family graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton, with Pastor Russell Gant officiating. Arrangements are through the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.

Archie was born on October 7, 1939 in Benton, the son of Andy Lampley and Gertrude (McCann) Lampley. He married the former Nancy Dale on May 24, 1956 and she survives.

Mr. Lampley was a retired brick mason.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Lampley of Benton, three children: Jane and husband Kevin Henk of Benton, Sherry and husband John Hargis of Benton, Archie Lampley, Jr. of Orient; six grandchildren: Michael Henk and wife Vicki of Benton, Stephanie Hargis of Paducah, KY, Adam Hargis of Freeburg, IL, Jeremy Lampley and Mark Lampley of West Frankfort, Krista Lampley of Orient; three great-grandchildren: Shelby and Brodie Henk of Benton, Joseph Lampley of Orient; three brothers: Paul Lampley and wife Diane, Tom Lampley and wife Peggy, Everett Lampley and wife Mary all of Benton; a sister: Mary and husband Wayne Summers of West Frankfort, his hunting partner and nephew Donnie Lampley of Benton, and several other nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lampley was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Donald Lampley, Sr. and two infant sisters: Dorothy and Lula Belle Lampley.
