Cynthia Kaye Rice, 55, of Benton; died at 8:51 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the St. Louis University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 in the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton, with Rev. Dean Blackburn officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rice was born April 2, 1956 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Floyd Bryan and Dolena (Jones) Bryan. She married William Scott Rice on October 5, 1974 and he survives.
Cynthia along with her husband were rental property owners.
She is survived by her husband: William Scott Rice of Benton; a daughter: Lacey Ann and husband Troy Brown of Murphysboro, IL; two Granddaughters: Allison and Kadance Brown both of Murphysboro, IL; her mother: Dolena Bryan; a sister: Rita Massey; a niece Sonya Massey; an uncle: David Jones and wife Dolley all of Mt. Vernon; a nephew: Jeff Massey and wife Marsha and their family of Benton; and a brother-in-law: Art Rice and wife Gennie of Benton and their families.
Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her father, her paternal and maternal grandparents, an aunt and an uncle.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks National Foundation or the Elks Children's Care Corporation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
