Gertrude Elnor Hutchinson, 88, of Thompsonville; died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at her home.
Ellie's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Thompsonville Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor John Lomacang officiating. Arrangements are through the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.
Mrs. Hutchinson was born on December 15, 1922 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Leonard Nord and Gertrude Agnes (Fischer) Nord. She married Richard Ashley Hutchinson in Vacaville, CA on December 15, 1988 and he survives in Thompsonville, IL.
Ellie formerly worked with the Fuller Brush Company, Western Airlines, The U.S. Postal Service in both California and Minnesota, and also had worked at St. Helena Hospital in California. Locally she will be remembered as a volunteer with the Seventh Day Adventist Church and School in Thompsonville.
She enjoyed music, especially singing and playing both the piano and organ. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting, and dolls.
Other survivors include two daughters: Merrilee and husband Terry Spaeth of Apple Valley, MN, Carol Dunham of Dixon, CA; a son: David Kroger and wife Verena of West Sacramento, CA; a step-daughter: Denise and husband Kip Reeves of Providence Forge, VA; a step-son: Rick Hutchinson and wife Kaline of Prescott, AZ; eleven Grandchildren and ten Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
