Harvey Bushue

Mr. Harvey Dean Bushue, age 82, of Benton, passed away at 2:42 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the VA Medical Center of Marion, Illinois.

   Harvey was born on August 8, 1942, in Effingham, IL; the son of Everett Bushue and Catherine (McKinney) Bushue. He married the former Rose Imogene Fitzpatrick on March 18, 1965, and she preceded him in death on September 21, 2023.

   In his working career, he was a farmer, and also formerly worked with Old Ben Coal Mine #26.

   He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

   Mr. Bushue used to enjoy hunting, fishing, trapping, and working in his woodshop. Most of all he enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   Harvey is survived by a son Charles Duane Bushue and wife Diana of Benton, Illinois; a daughter Donna Marie Bushue of Logan, Illinois; five grandchildren including Alicia, Chelsee, Kaleb, Ashley and Jeremy; ten great-grandchildren; and a brother Leonard Bushue of Urbana, Illinois.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and four siblings.

   Private Family Graveside Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, at the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton. The services were under the direction of the Leffler Funeral Home of Benton.
