John Willis Spicka, Jr., age 55, of Benton and formerly of Chicago, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his home.
His wishes are to be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a future date.
Leffler Funeral Home of Benton; is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
John was born on July 8, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John Willis Spicka, SR, and Ethel Carol (Patterson) Spicka. He married the former Eva Marie Cabrera on May 4, 2002, and she survives.
He formerly worked as a HazMat Supervisor with the city of Chicago. In recent years he built computer systems. John was of the Catholic faith.
John was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He was passionate about cooking. He was an American Patriot. He enjoyed coffee time with Carmalee and Beverly, he loved animals; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 20 years Eva Marie Spicka of Benton; five children: Krystal Marie Sablich of Wisconsin, Matthew Mourlas of Chicago, Jessica Marie Spicka of Benton, John Willis Spicka, III of Benton, Emily Ann Spicka of Benton; two grandchildren; two sisters: Terry Hughes of Benton, Ethel Carol Ball & husband Donovan of Arkansas; a niece Terra O’Connor of Murphysboro; a nephew Nick O’Connor of Benton; several other nieces and nephews; cancer buddy Sissy Russell and family; two special friends Carmalee Carr and Beverly Irvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings: Stephen Boeck, Ronald Boeck, Joseph Spicka, Edith Spicka, and Carrie Spicka.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the Leffler Funeral Home.
