Joseph Michael Conwell

Joseph Michael Conwell, 72, of Benton and formerly of Chicago; died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at his home.
Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. There will be no visitation, family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. Arrangements are through the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.
Mr. Conwell was born on December 24, 1938 in Chicago, the son of James Conwell and Julia (Canavan) Conwell. He married the former Gladys Adela Lagos Lopez on November 20, 1990, and she survives.
Joe was a retired bus driver having worked with the Chicago Transit Authority for twenty-five years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #241 in Chicago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Conwell is survived by his wife Gladys Conwell of Benton; two daughters: Loretta Conwell of Chicago, Geraldine Conwell of Orland Park, IL; two sons: Joe Conwell and Tommy Conwell both of Chicago; five step-children: Maribel Castro of Grays Lake, IL, Belinda Espino of Berwyn, IL, Patricia Calderon of Benton, Emilo Calderon of Honduras, Edwardo Calderon of Miami, FL; forty-two grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother: Thomas Conwell of Chicago; and a sister: Anna Conwell of Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son: Michael Conwell.
