Karla Sue Bird, age 61, of Highland, Illinois, passed away at 9:26 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Highland Healthcare Center.
Karla was born on September 17, 1963, in Bradley, Illinois; the daughter of James Edward Bird and Lorine Faye (Williams) Bird.
She was a self-employed baker and was of the Catholic faith.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading, journaling, playing BINGO on the computer, riding motorcycles, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters: Amy Fortin of Centralia, Illinois, Laura Fortin of New Baden, Illinois; a sister Sandra Fisher and husband Terry; and her ex-husband and friend Gregory P. Fortin of New Baden, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her wishes are to be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service at a future date.
The Leffler Funeral Home of Benton, Illinois, is in charge of the arrangements.
