Klaus Dieter Sterling, age 74, of Benton, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Franklin Hospital of Benton.
Klaus Dieter Sterling was born on January 11, 1948, in Helmstedt, Germany; the son of Paul Sterling and Wanda (Becker) Sterling.
He was a retired X-Ray Technician, last working with the Harrisburg Medical Center. He previously worked as a coal miner for Old Ben Coal #26. When he was younger, he worked in construction as a bricklayer.
Klaus enjoyed fishing and listening to music. He also liked to collect fossils and mineral rocks.
Surviving is a daughter Cindy and husband Bob Salters of North Gassville, Arkansas; a granddaughter Anastasia and family; two sisters: Eleanor Roberts of Okawville, Illinois, and Karen Pluess and husband Jim of Harrisburg, Illinois; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Robert Roberts.
A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Leffler Funeral Home of Benton.
Cremation arrangements are through the Leffler Funeral Home of Benton.
