Mary Louise Seagle, 89, of West Frankfort, went to be with our Lord and Savior at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, May 29, 2011 at her home.
Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in the Heights Church of God on the corner of Clark and Cherry Street in West Frankfort, IL with Rev. Joe Daniels and Rev. Richard Keim officiating. Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery on Orient Road near West Frankfort. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening May 31, 2011 and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday in the Heights Church of God in West Frankfort. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made in Mary's memory to either Morthland College or to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the church. Arrangements are through the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.
Mary was born on January 16, 1922 in West Frankfort, the daughter of Charles and Cecelia Krolicki. She married Hubert M. Seagle on December 22, 1940 and he preceded her in death.
Mary will be most remembered for her excellent cooking and her beautiful rose garden. Her bud vases and food have been shared with the sick and grieving for many years. Mary worshipped and served the Lord at the Heights Church of God in West Frankfort for over 65 years.
Mary is survived by her daughter Patty and husband Charles "Red" Morthland of West Frankfort; grandchildren: Charles "Ritch" Morthland of West Frankfort, Dr. Timothy Morthland and wife Jill of West Frankfort, Steffaney Seagle of Dixon, IL, Jennifer and husband Brian Pyle of Clive, IA, and Jeff Seagle of Marion, IL; great-grandchildren: Andrew Dunbar, Derek Pyle, Jordan Pyle, Sarah Morthland, T.J. Morthland, Sameul Morthland and Anna Grace Morthland; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Her loving presence will be sorely missed, but her memory will be forever engraved in the hearts of all who knew her and loved her.
Mrs. Seagle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son: Charles Edward "Chuck" Seagle, two brothers: Albert and Alfred Brosman, and three sisters: Helen Myers, Clara Musser and Berniece Vlna.
