Matilda F Anderson

Matilda F. Anderson, 97, of St. Louis, formerly of Benton; died at 12:11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 at her home in St. Louis.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Benton with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.
Mrs. Anderson was born on March 14, 1913 in Benton, the daughter of Francis and Constance (Zaremba) Kupczak. She married Stanley A. Anderson on September 23, 1933 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1971.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in St. Louis, and prior to her moving to St. Louis, she was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Benton. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Benton.
Surviving are two grandsons: William A. Tennant and wife Elizabeth of Ballwin, MO, John A. Tennant of St. Louis; two great grandsons: Nicholas C. Tennant and Evan A. Tennant of Ballwin, MO; a son-in-law: Arnold Tennant of St. Louis, MO; a sister-in-law: Carol Anderson of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter Jeanne Anderson Tennant on December 9, 2009; four brothers: Max Kupczak, Frank Kupczak, Walde Kupczak, and George Kupczak; and four sisters: Anna Ohanik, Cecile Singer, Jean Jozens and Joanna O'Brien.
