Michael Wayne Gillis

Michael Gillis, 48, of Whittington; died at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton with Rev. Eddie Paul Davis officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
Mr. Gillis was born on August 16, 1962 in Alton, IL the son of Gilbert Gillis and Shirley (Lash) Gillis.
Mike was employed at Fox's Cleaners in Marion, IL.
He is survived by his mother: Shirley Kane of Alton, IL; three brothers: James Gillis of Benton, Charles R. Gillis of Murphysboro, and Richard A. Gillis of Jerseyville; his fiancee Rhonda Newbery of Whittington and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gillis was preceded in death by his father, a sister-in-law: Sharon Gillis; and a nephew: Christopher Gillis.
