Pamela Sue Prior

Pamela Sue Prior, age 65, of McCalla, Alabama, formerly of Benton, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at her home.

Pam was born on August 22, 1955 in Chicago Heights, IL; the daughter of Charles “Chalk” Gipson and Sylvia (Gilbreath) Gipson.

Pam was well known in the Benton community and worked for over 20 years at Barton & Collins Furniture on the Benton Public Square. After the closure of Barton & Collins Furniture, she went on to work as an ambulance and police dispatcher before her retirement.

She is survived by her son, Preston Prior of Dallas, TX; her mother Sylvia, sisters Brenda (Randy) Wiggins, Judy (Danny) Lampley and a brother, John (Jenni) Gipson, all of Benton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Private burial services for immediate family are pending. Leffler Funeral Home of Benton is in-charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benton Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry; and will be accepted at the funeral home.
