Robert Joseph Orley

Robert Joseph Orley, age 47 of Benton, died at 6:06 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center of Marion.

Mr. Orley was born on June 26, 1964 in Chicago, IL the son of Robert Louis and Vlasta (Tihlarik) Orley and was raised in Berwyn, IL. He married the former Connie Clark, whom he loved very much, on December 23, 2006 and she survives.

Robert was a cook and pizza maker for twenty-three years with Clark's Family Pizza of Benton. He served his country for ten years with the Army National Guard.

Robert loved sports and video games, and was a "Die Hard" Chicago Cubs, Bears and Black Hawks fan. But his love for sports was on a more personal level, he loved to be with his daughter Leah as she participated and excelled in track and field events with Benton High School, and his daughter Jessica as she participated in Rangerette basketball and tennis.

Survivors include his wife Connie Orley of Benton, two daughters: Jessica and Leah Orley of Benton, three step-children: Franklin Brown of Calvert City, KY, Melissa Brown of Alabama, Joshua Brown of Calvert City, KY; step-grandchildren: Kayla Brown, Tray Mosley, Paige Mosley, Braxton Brown and Heather Brown; three sisters: Roberta and husband Michael Petty of Chicago, Debra and husband Walter Clark of Benton, Patricia and husband George Reitz of Romeoville, IL; eleven nieces and nephews: Manuel Beltran, Mandy Petty, Michael J. Petty, Jennifer Williams, Crystal Clark, Walter Clark, Jr., Adam Clark, Jeremiah Reitz, Sarah Reitz, James Reitz, and Eric Reitz.

Mr. Orley was preceded in death by his parents.

His wishes were to be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton, with Rev. David Mays officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the Leffler - Poulson Funeral Home of Benton
