Susanne Cooper

Mrs. Susanne Cooper, age 71, of Zeigler, passed away at 5:44 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the Herrin Hospital.

Susanne was born on January 6, 1953, in Herrin, Illinois, the daughter of Roy Morris and Beatrice (Triplet) Morris. She married Spencer Lee Cooper on July 18, 1969, and he survives.

Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker, and she was a member of Glad Tidings Apostolic Church of West Frankfort, Illinois.

She enjoyed cooking and baking. She also loved to go to yard sales. Her husband said she was a loving, kind person that always put her family first, and she will be greatly missed.

Surviving is her loving husband of 55 years, Spencer Lee Cooper of Zeigler, Illinois; three sons: Ollie Lee Roy Cooper, Spencer Lee Cooper, and Jonathan Scott Cooper, all of Zeigler, Illinois; a sister Frances Randall and husband Larry of Louisiana; a brother Jim Morris of Marion, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Leffler Funeral Home of Benton, with Rev. Chris Hammonds officiating. The burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery of Benton. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Leffler Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Chuck Morris, Calvin Frank Morris, and Roy Laverne Morris.
