Valerie Lynn Ortner

Valerie Lynn Ortner, age 46, of Whittington, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at her home.

Her wishes are to be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service to be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Benton Community Building.

Leffler Funeral Home of Benton; is in charge of the cremation arrangements.

Valerie was born on May 20, 1975 in Aurora, Illinois; the daughter of Thomas Ortner and Donna Mae (Johnson) Ortner.

She was employed by Loves Truck Stop, where she was a store clerk.

Valerie enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and she enjoyed her job at Loves.

She was known to many as “Aunt Val”.

Surviving are two children: Dylan Ortner and Nathaniel Ortner both of Whittington, Illinois; three sisters: Kathy Pendergrass of Mendon, Michigan, Sherry Ortner of Madeira Beach, Florida, Robin Rogers Kirby of Peoria, several nieces, nephews, and her many friends and co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Thomas Ortner, Jr, who died February 6, 2018.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the Leffler Funeral Home.
