Vanita Hill Obituary

Mrs. Vanita Mae Hill, age 74, of Buckner, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from the Stonebridge Nursing and Rehab.

Her wishes are to be cremated with no public services.

Leffler Funeral Home of Benton; is in charge of the cremation arrangements.

Vanita was born on April 30, 1948 in Granite City, Illinois; the daughter of John Fleehart and Stella (Artist) Fleehart. She married Louis W. “Bud” Hill on October 28, 1967; and he preceded her in death on November 8, 2020.

She was a former waitress, factory worker, and homemaker.

Mrs. Hill formerly attended the Benton Church of God on North McLeansboro street.

She enjoyed playing cards, helping with the American Legion Auxiliary, assisting the VFW on BINGO nights, attending car races in Sycamore. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are two children: Michael Hill and wife Beth Ann of Ewing, Carrie Ann Webb and husband Shawn of Benton, three grandchildren: Taylor Hill of Ewing, Brian Gregg and wife Sam of Benton, Avril Andrew and husband Michael of Marion, Illinois; a great-grandson Brayden Poepping; a sister Kathy Crow and husband Dale of Rochelle, Illinois; a brother Gerald Fleehart and wife Pat of Fort Wayne, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a grandson Trevor Hill; two brothers: Tommy Fleehart and Roger Fleehart; and a sister Karla Fleehart.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and will be accepted at the Leffler Funeral Home.
